DMX arrested again over hospital bill and false name

DMX has been arrested again for allegedly giving a false name to avoid a $7,500 Mayo Clinic bill, following the earlier animal neglect investigation, according to Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Well, I'm shocked, saddened, disappointed - and also slightly weary of reporting that Earl Simmons, or DMX as he's more popularly known, has been arrested. But he has indeed been arrested again, this time on suspicion of giving a false name and social security number to a hospital in order to avoid paying his medical bill. According to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Simmons received treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, back in April using the alias 'Troy Jones' and failing to pay his $7.5k bill.

Arpaio told reporters that these events came to light following the previously reported investigation into allegations of animal neglect in which the rapper was arrested and charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanour animal cruelty charges. Twelve pit bull dogs were seized at Simmons' Phoenix home, of course, whilst the remains of a further three were dug up. It's only the latest unpleasant incident, of course, in a very, very, very long line of run-ins with the law.

No comment from the DMX camp, but Arpaio is quoted as saying: "He's back in jail again. I don't know why judges keep letting this guy out. Every time he goes in there, he gets out on bond. I'm hoping this is the one time he's going to pay the penalty for his offense". He added that if Simmons remained incarcerated he would likely be separated from other inmates for his own safety. Why? "They may not like his music". Not sure if that was a joke, or not.
