DMX is currently being held in a Florida jail, following his arrest outside a Wal-Mart store in Miami last week. As previously reported, a warrant was issued for the rapper's arrest after he failed to appear at a court in Arizona. His lawyer told the court that he had been unable to attend due to being hospitalised, but the judge decided that not enough evidence of this had been provided and issued the warrant anyway. Although the warrant initially set bail at £25,000, this was revoked following the arrest.
Brad Cohen, DMX's lawyer, reportedly contested the no bail status given to his client. However, this was not successful, meaning that they rapper will have to stay in jail until his next court date on 2 Oct.
Judge Schwartz, who oversaw proceedings in Florida, told Cohen: "Until the state of Arizona lifts its no bond status, it's a no bond status at this point".
