Call us cynical, but Pete Doherty isn't what you might want to call a "reliable source". But, either way, Doherty has told Xfm he plans to record a Christmas single with fellow Libertine Carl Barat, despite being in exile from the band.
He told the station: "Oh yes, I'm going to collaborate with Carl Barat. No I'm not [joking]. I'm going to. Even if I have to kidnap him. We're going to do a Christmas record. We always said we'd do a Christmas record. What better way to highlight the goodwill and forgiveness of man, than with a reunion?"
That said, he admitted that he wasn't currently in communication with the rest of the Libertines: "You're joking aren't you? I haven't spoken to anyone since the day I went to Thailand. No, not at all. You know what I mean? I try but there's only so much I can take."
