East 17's Tony Mortimer says The Streets are the closest thing to his band in the charts

East 17's Tony Mortimer says The Streets are the closest thing to his band in the charts, and praises how Mike Skinner reworked East 17's influence.

East 17's Tony Mortimer says that his band's music lives on through, erm, The Streets. Following on from that recent one-off comeback show, Mortimer said: "The Streets are definitely the closest thing to us in the charts these days. I like them a lot. Of course, if you ask them they'll probably say they were influenced by American hip-hop or something".
