Following last year's 25,000 capacity sell out, Electric Picnic promoters POD Concerts & Aiken Promotions have announced that next year's event will see an extra day added, meaning the festival will now take place from 1 - 3 Sep. Capacity will, however, remain below 30,000.
Tickets for the festival went on sale last week. No acts have been announced as yet, but with last year's line up including acts as diverse as Soulwax, The Flaming Lips, DJ Format, The Chalets, James Blunt, Nick Cave, Kraftwerk and Unabombers, we can expect a similarly eclectic 2006 line up.
