Encouraged by the good performance of digtial radio stations in the last lot of Rajars EMAP have confirmed they will make three new digital stations available via the terrestrial digital TV network Freeview. The move will continue their mission to make each of their music brands available in print, TV and radio formats. Q - already a magazine and TV station - will get a radio channel. The Hits, already a TV channel, will go radio and Magic, a terrestrial radio station and TV channel, will get a digital output. These will be in addition to the three EMAP radio stations already available via Freeview - Kiss, Smash Hits and Kerrang.
Tim Schoonmaker of Emap Performance told Media Guardian: "It is becoming clear that, in the digital world, consumers want to listen to the radio wherever and whenever suits them best - whether it is delivered via their television, their radio, their computer or their mobile phone," he added.
