Fender guitar used on Tubular Bells going up for auction

The Fender guitar Mike Oldfield used to record Tubular Bells is being auctioned for charity Sane, with an estimate of £25,000 to £35,000.

The Fender guitar used by Mike Oldfield in the recording of the 'Tubular Bells' album is going up for auction, and is expected to fetch between £25,000 and £35,000, not least because before Oldfield used it it was owned by Marc Bolan. Oldfield has donated the instrument to be sold on behalf of mental health charity Sane. The Mail On Sunday should buy it and give it away to one of their readers for free.
