Well, it worked so well for Channel 4, it's bound to be a hit. Former (and soon to be former) RI:SE presenters Colin Murray and Edith Bowman are to co-host a new Saturday morning show for Radio 1. The new show, which will replace Scott Mills' current weekend programme, will launch on 29 Mar. Murray already works for the station of course, currently fronting the former Evening Session slot until Zane Lowe becomes available for evenings when his Xfm contract runs out later this year. Bowman is new to Radio 1, formerly presenting a weekend radio show with Cat Deeley on Capital FM.
Announcing the new show a Radio 1 spokesperson said: "Colin and Edith are both massive music fans and gig fanatics and will front a show featuring great new music, competitive banter and a healthy dose of filthy gossip." Murray himself added: "Obviously, it's nice to work with Bowman at Radio 1 because we're good mates. I think, however, the show will only work if she sleeps over at mine on a Friday. I'd like to think the show will suit everyone from the football fan to the eager shoppers. We aim to take things as far as we can during daylight hours".
