Foxy Brown pleads not guilty to assault charge

Rapper Foxy Brown, real name Inga Marchand, has pleaded not guilty in New York to assaulting nail salon workers, denying any physical attack over a pedicure dispute.

Rapper Foxy Brown has appeared in a New York Court to plead not guilty to a charge of assault on 29 Aug last year, denying that she attacked two nail salon workers following an argument about a $20 pedicure.

Ms

Brown, real name Inga Marchand, admitted that a contretemps took place, after she asked for a manicure and a pedicure as the salon was about to close, but denies any physical attack.

Prosecutors allege that in the ensuing altercation the star kicked and hit the salon manager, Sun Ji Song, inflicting "bruising and swelling to the face, as well as substantial pain", and also hitting another employee with her mobile phone. The star and her lawyer have accused the salon staff of wanting to take advantage of her wealth.
