Talking of Oasis, which I think we were (and everyone probably will be this week, with 'Don't Believe The Truth' out yesterday), the always consistent Liam Gallagher has said he would like to record a song with Bloc Party, despite slagging them off in a recent interview.
As previously reported, Liam told the NME that Kaiser Chiefs were "a bad Blur", that Bloc Party were like "a band off University Challenge, like they're sitting on a panel or something", and that Pete Doherty was a "smackhead" who needed a slap. But then he changed is mind about Doherty, later saying "there is only one British hero right now: Pete Doherty".
Well, now Gallagher has reversed his viewpoint on Bloc Party, telling Virgin Radio that he wouldn't mind working with the buzz band - "If they've got a song that's good enough then I'm having it."
Commenting on his previous slating of certain new bands, and their subsequent responses, Gallagher continued: "I am a music lover and they [the bands he attacked] have every right to slag my band off. I just put bands in their places. There are a load of bands I like and there is a load of bands I fucking detest because they are shit." So that's that sorted.
