Gary Glitter will be deported back to Britain on Tuesday, after he is released from a Vietnamese jail at the end of his 27 month sentence for child molestation. This somewhat scuppers his plans to never return to the UK. Although, if it's any consolation, I don't think we wanted him to come back either, really, so we all lose out a bit. He isn't required to stay, though.

Glitter's lawyer Le Thanh Kinh told Reuters: "My client will have to board a flight to London, his ticket has been bought by the authorities here. After he lands in London, he's free to go wherever he wants".
