George Michael shifts more units after Oprah appearance

US sales of George Michael's 'Patience' album have reportedly risen around 40% since his appearance on Oprah Winfrey's chat show, possibly pushing it into the top ten.

Well, as I always say, it's not so much what you sing as which chat shows you appear on. Word is US sales of George Michael's 'Patience' album have picked up considerably since he appeared on Oprah Winfrey's chat show. Michael's popularity is not what it was in the US - what with that incident in a Beverly Hills toilet still tarnishing his reputation, and then his dabblings in the world of anti-war songs. But word is the Oprah performance has helped increase sales by 40%, which might push the album into the top ten next week.
