Tip for the weekend – The Benedictine Funk Monastery - a night of hip hop, smooth urban grooves and blistering funk featuring Silver Man (Tru Thoughts), DJ Esar, Luke Wallace and Friar Yak at The District, 19 Amhurst Road, Hackney on Friday from 10pm. Organisers tell us: "This is the first rule in the law of St Benedict. And listen you shall: with a team of record spinners more jovial and buffoon-like in character than dear old Friar Tuck, its time to pin those ears back and get down with the Brothers at The Benedictine Funk Monastery." Make of that what you will.
