Girls Aloud criticise Brits

Girls Aloud have decided not to attend the Brits after being left out of nominations, with Sarah Harding calling the Best Pop category a joke.

And whilst we're on the subject of Brit nominations, sounds of discontent are apparently emanating from the Girls Aloud camp, because they weren't nominated for an award - so much so they have decided not to attend the event at all. The aforementioned Richard Archer thought they ought to be nominated in the Best Pop category, to be fair, and so do CMU. Because you may not like Girls Aloud, but they do in fact do good pop.

Anyway, according to that ever-reliable source The Mirror, the blonde one Sarah Harding says: "We aren't nominated for a Brit. It's a complete joke - we can't believe it. It's become so American. Look at the best pop category. It's the likes of Madonna, who isn't pop and isn't British. Kelly Clarkson isn't British either. It doesn't give British pop acts like us a chance. So I think we're going to be in Australia promoting our new album over there."
