Glitter in hospital

A Vietnamese doctor says Gary Glitter was hospitalised in early January with diarrhoea and an irregular heartbeat, and is now fully recovered.

According to a Vietnamese doctor, disgraced former glam-rocker Gary Glitter was hospitalised at the start of this month after suffering from diarrhoea and an irregular heartbeat, but is apparently now well again. Glitter is, of course, imprisoned in Vietnam where he was convicted of molesting two young girls back in March 2006 and handed a three year gaol sentence. As previously reported, his stint was reduced by three months last year, due to an annual prisoner amnesty, and the singer, real name Paul Gadd, will be released in August 2008.

The man who treated Glitter, Doctor Nguyen Thai Hoa, confirmed that he'd seen Glitter at a prisoner's clinic on 4 Jan, and kept him in because of a slow heartbeat, but says that his patient is now fully recovered. "He is fine now", he said, "every morning he smiles and says good morning to me when I see him".
