Glitter to be released this month

Gary Glitter is due to be released from a Vietnamese prison on 19 August after serving almost three years for child sex offences.

That previously reported yet slightly improbable Gary Glitter comeback album could be coming out sooner than you thought. The singer will be released from prison in Vietnam, where he has served almost three years for child sex offences, later this month.

Vietnamese prison service official Chu Xuan Mau said: "According to Vietnamese law, Glitter will be freed on 19 Aug. The decision on his release will be read before him that day. It will be signed by the director of the prison. We have sent his file to the provincial external relations office and relevant police offices".
