Gorillaz to make an end

Damon Albarn has told the BBC that Gorillaz will end with a film, possibly directed by Terry Gilliam, rather than another pop record.

Following rumours that the animated band were heading for a 'split', reports suggest that Damon Albarn has confirmed that Gorillaz will end with a full length movie, which might be directed by former Monty Python star Terry Gilliam. The Blur man told the BBC last week: "We're trying to make a film next, starting in September hopefully", but added that the next Gorillaz record would be "a film score. There won't be another pop record". Which certainly does imply that Gorillaz will indeed be put to bed.

Also asked whether Blur will reunite complete with Graham Coxon any time soon, Albarn responded: "I really don't know. I think it's possible that we might be. But I'm not entirely sure we are". So that's that one not cleared up again.
