Guitar exhibition opens in Harrods tonight

The Born To Rock guitar exhibition opens at Harrods, featuring vintage electrics and custom guitars by artists including Bono and Graham Coxon, with items auctioned for charity.

The previously reported Born To Rock guitar exhibition arrives in London later today as part of the Harrods Rocks season being staged by, well, Harrods. The exhibition includes electric guitars from the last seventy-five years, including a 1931 Rickenbacker Frying Pan, and loads of other guitars (of all makes) played by all kinds of rock icons over the decades. Plus there is a collection of guitars that have been especially designed by top name musicians, artists and designers (like Graham Coxon, Joseph Arthur, Hedi Slimane, Bono, Peter Blake, Rankin, Jennifer Lopez, Anton Corbijn, Bryan Adams and Fred Deakin) which will be auctioned off in aid of various charities. It all kicks off with a big party tonight, and then properly opens to the public tomorrow. Gigs and showcases will also take place in the store throughout the month.
