Gun charges dropped in Ray Davies shooting case

Charges against Jerome Barra, accused of shooting Ray Davies in 2004, were dropped after Davies did not attend court, saying he learned of the date only weeks before.

In other musical related gaffs this week, Kinks' front-man Ray Davies failed to turn up to court to testify against a man who allegedly shot him in January 2004. Davies claims that his failure to appear was due to him only finding out about the date a few weeks ago and that he was unable to make it at such short notice. Jerome Barra, the man facing the charges of shooting Davies, subsequently had the charges against him dropped and was released.
