Henry Kelly takes over LBC Sunday brunch show after Classic FM exit

Henry Kelly will stand in for Katie Derham on her Sunday brunch show on LBC for a fortnight, after his breakfast show was axed by Classic FM.

Following his sudden and somewhat controversial departure from Classic FM, Henry Kelly has been snapped up by Chrysalis' London talk station LBC.

Kelly, who's breakfast show was axed two weeks ago, will stand in for Katie Derham on her Sunday brunch show on LBC 97.3 for a fortnight. Insiders at the station have hinted that they hoped the relationship would turn into "a longer-term working relationship".

Kelly Said: "I am delighted to be taking over Katie's show on LBC 97.3 for the next two weeks and I hope some of my loyal listeners will tune in as it's a great timeslot. The team here at LBC are making me very welcome, so who knows? This could be the start of a beautiful relationship."

In his 11 years at Classic he attracted 3.3m listeners a day; maybe LBC are hoping to draw some of the thousands of people who bombarded the Classic FM website with protest emails when they heard he had been axed.
