Hip hop community react to Pepsi's Ludacris decision, eventually

The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network has called for a boycott of Pepsi after the brand dropped Ludacris from its sponsorship programme.

Slow to react, but the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network have called for a boycott of Pepsi in reaction to the brand’s decision to drop rapper Ludacris from their sponsorship programme. As previously reported, Pepsi scrapped an advertising campaign involving the rapper last September after a campaign led by Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly who objected to the drink working with "a man who takes drugs and abuses women". No word on why it has taken so long for the Network to call for the ban which will officially begin on 12 Feb. But when it happens the ban will be quite ambitious – they are calling on all artists and hip-hop supporters to refrain from supporting all Pepsico products until the company issues a public apology, makes a $5 million contribution to the non-profit Ludacris Foundation and reinstates the rapper’s Pepsi spots.
