iLike launches gig advertising service for promoters

Music recommendation service iLike has launched a service letting promoters advertise tours and gigs to fans whose tastes match the featured artists, with third-party embedding due later this year.

iLike, the last.fm-style music social networking recommendation whatnot, has announced a new service for the live sector which will enable promoters to advertise upcoming tours and gigs to music fans who the iLike system already knows likes the featured artists. Meanwhile, insiders say iLike will later this year offer its service to third party websites who will be able to embed all of iLike's music functionality onto their own sites, including full-song streaming. Lovely.
