Incubus lose bassist

Incubus have announced the departure of bassist and founding member Dirk Lance who will be replaced by Rootsguitarist Ben Kenney. In a statement frontman Brandon Boyd told reporters: "We, as a band, would love to express our gratitude towards Dirk for an amazing 12 years of artistry and dedication. He was and will remain a valuable asset to the history of this band." No word on whether the departure has anything to do with the ongoing legal dispute the band is embroiled in – as you'll remember Incubus is suing Sony to be freed of their contract with Epic, in reaction to which Sony countersued claiming Incubus owes the label four additional albums.
