It's the Acoustic Festival of Britain

The first Acoustic Festival Of Britain takes place at Dorfold Hall in Nantwich on 29 and 30 July, with a long list of acts including Elkie Brooks and Chumbawamba.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the first ever Acoustic Festival Of Britain, taking place in lovely old Nantwich (that's in Cheshire). On the bill are The Animals, Elkie Brooks, Paul Jones and The Blues Band, Hayseed Dixie, Sandi Thom, Pentangle, Dennis Locorriere of Dr. Hook, The Stranglers, Steve Harley, Bruce Foxton of The Jam, Glen Tilbrook from Squeeze, Mike Peters of The Alarm, Ian McNabb of Icicle Works, Tom Hingley of Inspiral Carpets and Chumbawamba. It all takes place on 29 and 30 Jul at Dorfold Hall in Nantwich which the press release tells me is within 40 minutes drive of Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Stoke and Wrexham and which, I can confirm, is about 25 minutes drive from Holmes Chapel (just in case you wondered). Tickets are £25 per day. More info at http://www.acousticfestival.co.uk. Press info from [email protected]
