Talking of new festivals in London, which we were, here's another one for you. This one is called Field Day and will take place at Victoria Park in London on 11 Aug. Unfortunately I'll be in Edinburgh at the time, but if you're in this capital on that day then you might want to check it out. It's being staged by a number of fine sorts like Marcus Weedon (The Coronet, Vapour, Riki Tik), Eat Your Own Ears, Adventures In The Beetroot Field, Bugged Out! and Homefires, and on the bill so far are all of the following: 1990's, Absentee, Adem, Andrew Weatherall, Archie Bronson Outfit, Battles, Bat For Lashes, Ben Fat Trucker, Boys Noize, Caribou, Electrelane, Erol Alkan, Fence Collective presents 3 Craws, Foals, Four Tet, Fridge, James Yorkston, Jo Jo De freq, Metronomy, Pull Tiger Tail, The Aliens and The Earlies, with many many more tbc. Plus there'll be a brass band, coconut shy, tea and cake stall, welly throwing, barn dancing, morris dancing and a tug of war. No, really. Tickets are £22.50 and are on sale right now, I do believe. For more info check http://www.fielddayfestivals.com, though not yet, the full website's not live yet. If you're a press type looking for info right now then I'd suggest a polite phone call to Get Involved.
