Jay-Z refuses to sell album on iTunes

Jay-Z will not sell his album 'American Gangster' track by track on iTunes, saying it should be experienced as a whole.

Jay-Z is the latest artist to refuse to sell his new album on iTunes because of the Apple platform's insistence that customers can buy albums on a track-by-track basis. The hip hop mogul says that his latest long player, 'American Gangster', which, as previously reported, is an unofficial soundtrack to the Ridley Scott film of the same name, should only be experienced in its entirety. Jay said in a statement: "As movies are not sold scene by scene, this collection will not be sold as individual singles". As previously reported, Radiohead's catalogue is not available via iTunes because of the track-by-track rule.
