Jesus And Mary Chain play Meltdown, with comeback rumours

The Jesus And Mary Chain played their first UK show in nine years at the Jarvis Cocker-curated Meltdown, with rumours of a full comeback involving Phil King and Loz Colbert.

The Jesus And Mary Chain staged their latest reunion performance with a show at the Jarvis Cocker curated Meltdown at the weekend. Their audience at their first UK show in nine years included their former drummer, Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie, and My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields.

As previously reported, the gossip is that the band's founders William Reid and James Reid are planning a complete comeback, and are expected to head into the studio, accompanied by former Lush bassist Phil King and ex Ride drummer Loz Colbert, at some point in the near future.
