Reports into: Senior Operations Manager  
Location: Drumsheds and Canary Wharf Head Office  
Contract Type: Fixed Term, August / September 24 – December 24 (Option to extend to May 25) 42.5 hours per week

What we’re looking for: 

There is now a very exciting opportunity for a talented Duty Operations Manager to join Broadwick Live's Drumsheds team and play a pivotal role in the running of our music events at the venue’s busiest ever season. Reporting to the Head of Entertainment Operations, you will play a key role in the successful on-the-ground delivery of the music shows across our Autumn/Winter 2024 and Spring/Summer 2025 season. 

To be successful, you will have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within the nightclub and/or festival industry, with a good understanding of live and electronic music events. You will have a natural passion for customer service combined with strong operational acumen and excellent team leadership skills. You will be extremely organised, with a real ability to get things done, and a strong determination and understanding of how to drive the business forward. A flexible approach to your working schedule is essential; the successful operation of the shows will involve late night finishes and early morning starts. 

We’re looking for a strong communicator who is flexible in their working approach and is willing to get stuck in. This will be a very hands-on role, and you will be a key member on site helping to lead the build, break and overall delivery of show operations for each event. 

What you’ll be responsible for: 

Show Operations 

  • Show Delivery; assisting & leading with the management of on-site operations on both event and build/break days. 
  • Show Coordination; coordination of external suppliers, staff, artist brands & external promoters to assist with the delivery of music shows.
  • Suppliers Relationship Management; Being a key contact for all suppliers on-site, including security, traffic management, medics, health and safety, cleaners, bars, food traders, ticketing and our casual staff team. Ensuring effective negotiation and management of suppliers. 
  • Reporting; Shift reports, incident reports and collating of all debrief notes, ensuring followed up and actioned across all departments. 
  • Managing event briefings across various departments to ensure the smooth delivery at the event.  
  • Customer Service Management; liaising with guests, local authorities and members of the public in a professional, respectful and public facing manner. 
  • Ensuring all customers have the best possible experience generally and with personal interactions, feeding back and implementing plans on how to elevate this experience. 
  • Problem solving incidents on site during the show in a professional manner.
  • Oversight of Event Safety; working with the Health and Safety Advisor during on-site delivery. 
  • Always promoting the licensing objectives. 

Office Duties 

  • Financial duties: checking invoices, raising Purchase Orders, populating and ad hearing to budgets. 
  • Creating rotas based on staffing requirements. 
  • Investigating and replying to customer service issues.
  • Support wider business departments where needed.  

Team 

  • Creating a work environment that aligns with Broadwick values and principles. 

Other 

  • Carrying out ad hoc duties when required to. 

You’ll need to have: 

  • Strong leadership & management skills; the ability to lead a team and make decisions whilst under pressure is key to this role. 
  • Exceptional organisational skills: you’ll need to have an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy. 
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately, with excellent prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment. 
  • The ability to stay cool, calm and collected in stressful situations.
  • Excellent time management and punctuality. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent radio etiquette. 
  • Willingness to work on-site for long periods of time and flexibility with working hours. 
  • To be self-motivated; the ability to push on and get the job completed to the best of your ability. 

Nice to have: 

  • A personal licence would be advantageous but not necessary to be successful.
