Finance Manager // One Little Independent [EXPIRED]

One Little Independent Records and Publishing is seeking a Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, outgoing, and self-motivated individual with advanced Excel skills, experience using Xero accounting software, and great organisational skills. This position reports to the General Manager and will assist in the management of all aspects of the administration and financial tasks for both the recording and publishing companies. This hybrid role (3 days office/2 days home) is based in our South West London offices.

Candidates should have 2+ years experience at a record label, and ideally be qualified to AAT Level 4 or part-/fully qualified through ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

The OLI group of companies includes OLI Records, Crass Records, OLI Publishing and OLI Management. OLI has been working and operating for over 40 years, and the current roster includes Bjork, Asgeir, Poppy Ackroyd, Laura Misch, Arny Margret, Bad Breeding, and Delilah Holliday.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Via Xero Accounting Software, perform bookkeeping and day-to-day financial tasks, including processing the company’s purchase and sales ledger, recording bank and credit card transactions and reconciliations and handling intercompany activity.
  • Manage all bank payments and fund transfers
  • Balancing accounts, supplier & bank reconciliations
  • Prepare & post nominal ledger journals
  • Quarterly VAT return preparation
  • Monthly IOSS return preparation
  • Process invoices, receipts, payments
  • Issue & secure payment of sales invoices
  • Debtor/creditor reports – quarterly and year end
  • Payroll via Sage Cloud Payroll, including all statutory submissions (PAYE/NI, pensions, P11D)
  • Deal with financial paperwork and filing for companies
  • Work with the General Manager and relevant label teams to set annual budgets and review variances on a regular basis
  • Liaise with warehouse team to manage stock control and wholesale/retail pricing
  • Liaise with the Royalty Manager to ensure relevant data is processed in time for the twice-yearly royalty run
  • Work with OLI’s external accountants to carry out year-end procedures and finalise accounts
  • Work with the General Manager to review and streamline financial processes on an ongoing basis

The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates:

  • Experience with Xero accounting software
  • Part- or fully qualified accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) with strong bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with budget-setting and management accounts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, advanced functions, etc.)
  • Analytical mind with strong attention to detail
  • Organised and methodical approach to record keeping
  • 2+ years’ experience within the music industry, preferably in a record label context
