YOUR ROLE
The Marketing and Production Asst will report to the Label Manager and is responsible for assisting the end-to-end process of single,ep or album release, ensuring seamless execution from concept to delivery across digital and physical platforms.
Key duties include quality control of release materials (mastered audio, artwork, metadata), submission to distribution partners, and assisting with timelines for release campaigns. You will manage physical formats, including vinyl and CD production, while handling stock inventory and ensuring smooth fulfilment for direct-to-consumer (D2C) orders and liaison with retail regarding instore tours. .
This role additionally requires the creation and maintenance of campaign assets like press releases, one sheets, and some promotional materials, including digital content for advertising campaigns.. Responsibilities also include registering music with rights organisations (PPL, VPL) and maintaining the label’s digital archive and back catalogue.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting the label manager with the smooth process of a release from start to finish.
- Quality checking and setting up releases to include mastered audio, artwork, to our distribution partner
- Metadata creation and submission.
- Assembling label copy for releases
- Liaison with CD/Vinyl Manufacturer
- Initiating and maintaining one sheets/sales notes on artist releases
- Registering tracks and videos on PPL & VPL platforms and other neighbouring rights partners.
- Managing the label’s back-catalogue and digital archive.
- Liaising with UK record stores for instore activities
- Raising and assigning purchase orders.
- Editing promo content for the label and artists: Short promo videos, product shots, leaflets/posters, social content.
- Basic copyright skills to write some press releases where PR not onboard.
- Updating and maintaining D2C Stores inc Bandcamp, Big Cartel, Discogs, label website etc
- Stock management: Overseeing stock inventory and sending stock for D2C orders. Ensuring stock is ordered and delivered to artists for tours, etc and providing inventory reports.
- Attend, gigs, showcases and other events to represent Sunday Best.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- You must be passionate about the Independent Music Industry and Services sector with some understanding of the commercial music landscape across both digital and physical format.
- Keen gig goer and purveyor of music
- Proficient in video and photo editing software.
- Highly organised and process driven with ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the changing market.
- Good writing skills
- Some awareness of pre-release campaigns, multi-format content and video across different DSPs and social platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.
- Strong relationship building skills and a team-oriented approach.
- A diligent self-starter who is ready to learn and will also take the initiative
