This senior role is suited to someone with strong A&R instincts, deep knowledge of sync trends, and a proven ability to turn insight into high-quality, sync-ready music.

Working across both library and commercial catalogue, you’ll commission and shape new music, identify growth opportunities, and build lasting relationships with writers, artists, and collaborators. With a hands-on approach, you’ll ensure the catalogue remains competitive, relevant, and creatively distinctive in a fast-evolving global sync landscape.

The roles responsibilities will include (but not exclusive to):

Library:

  • Research and create themed briefs for production music albums, based on current sync trends and existing catalogue strengths.
  • Identify relevant writers for each project and send briefs.
  • Provide rounds of feedback on musical direction and mixes.
  • Establish and nurture writer relationships

Commercial Catalogue:

  • Research sync trends and identify key gaps in the roster's sync offerings. Brief ideas to select writers/artists to create one-off sync tracks.
  • Identify new ways of creating new, sync-friendly copyrights from existing catalogue.
  • Seek out new writers/contributors/artists.
  • Nurture existing writer relationships.
  • Organise in-person writing camps.

You should have some or all of the following...

  • Proven experience in music publishing, A&R, or sync, with a strong track record of commissioning and developing music for sync
  • Deep understanding of current sync trends across TV, film, advertising and digital platforms, and the ability to translate insight into effective creative briefs
  • Strong knowledge of Ninja Tune and the Just Isn’t Music catalogue, with an ability to work across a wide range of genres and styles
  • Experience working with composers, producers, and artists to deliver high-quality, sync-ready music
  • Demonstrated ability to identify gaps and opportunities within a catalogue and develop strategies to address them
  • Experience sourcing and onboarding new writers, contributors, and collaborators
  • Optional but preferred – experience organising and leading writing sessions or camps, and working cross-functionally with sync, creative, and marketing teams

About you…

  • A strong creative ear, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback on musical direction and production
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
  • Commercially minded, with a clear understanding of what makes music work in sync
  • Confident communicator, able to brief, guide, and inspire writers and collaborators
  • Proactive in spotting trends, opportunities, and new approaches to catalogue development
  • Skilled at building and maintaining long-term relationships with writers, artists, and industry partners
