Kanye West claims he is among music's most influential figures

Kanye West says he and Justin Timberlake are the frontrunners in music, with a rivalry like Prince and Michael Jackson, while Timberlake claims a record for cameras used on an HBO concert.

Kanye West lives to boast another day, this time claiming that he is one of the most influential musicians going. In a move similar to R Kelly's previously reported polemic explaining how he should be held in the same breath as Stevie Wonder et al, West has been telling reporters that he and Justin Timberlake are the clear frontrunners in music right now, adding that they have a rivalry that is similar to that between Prince and Michael Jackson in their heyday.

In a humbling twist however, he admitted that he takes much of his inspiration from JT and owes much of his success to the drive that the 'Sexyback' singer provides him.

Meanwhile, in other Timberlake news, it seems that he may be upping the stakes in his superiority battle with Kanye after breaking the record for number of cameras used to record a concert. Brimming with pride, Timberlake said: "The director told me, ' You broke the HBO concert special record for most cameras used", explaining how they had: "cameras onstage, underneath the stage...I think there was one in my butt - anywhere you can put a camera!"
