Liam on his Songbird

Liam Gallagher has spoken to Radio 1 about Songbird, which reached number three in the charts, and says he is on good terms with brother Noel.

Liam Gallagher spoke to Radio 1 yesterday about current single 'Songbird' which went in the charts at number three on Sunday behind Tatu and Justin Timberlake. While admitting he’s no great fan of Justin, he said he mind being beaten by a couple of lesbians! The track, unusually penned by Liam, has got considerable critical acclaim – was Liam feeling smug? "Well I suppose so because it means I don't have to give any of the money to our kid. But it's a simple song I wrote about my girlfriend and I'm proud of it."

Talking about current relations between Liam and Noel – said to be back on a low since that incident in Germany last Autumn – he said: "We’re getting on alright I suppose. I haven't spoken to him, so I'm getting on very good actually with him."
