Lil Kim: "I'm doing fine - now buy my album"

Lil Kim has issued a statement from jail saying she is in good spirits and in general population, and mentioning her new album The Naked Truth.

From the pop courts to the pop prison. Lil Kim has released a statement from jail assuring her fans that she is in "good spirits", adding that, despite rumours to the contrary, she is not receiving special treatment behind bars.

According to the statement published by Daily Hip Hop News, Lil Kim says: "I want all my friends, family and fans to know that I am in good spirits and I will be fine. Contrary to rumours, I am in general population at PDC and I have adjusted to the facility and to my fellow inmates, who are all cool people. Each day, I read, sharpen my focus and grow."

The statement, of course, was part of Lil Kim's attempts to educate her fan base of the importance of taking responsibility of your actions (especially if your actions involve lying in court), and not in anyway a plug for her new album 'The Naked Truth', which is out this week. Though she did add: "Of course, I wish I could be out to celebrate the release of my new album this week, 'The Naked Truth', but instead I am looking to take advantage of this time to work on my personal development. Thank you all for your continued support."
