Louis Walsh hits back at Robbie Williams over TV talent shows

Popstars judge Louis Walsh has responded to Robbie Williams's criticism of TV talent shows, calling him a jumped-up karaoke singer in The Sun.

Popstars The Rivals judge Louis Walsh has hit back at Robbie Williams, who last week slated the Pop Idol / Popstars type programmes saying they were "cruel television fucking with people's lives for entertainment". Calling Robbie a "jumped-up karaoke singer" who wouldn't make it on to the show, Louis told The Sun that if George Michael had attacked Popstars, then he would have listened, but he had no respect for Williams’ opinions. "How can he say the programmes are bad? He is a jumped-up karaoke singer. He did that album Swing When You're Winning and Frank Sinatra fans wanted to murder him. When he was in Take That he wasn't very good. He was simply the one with no clothes on - the silly one, not the talent." A fair response perhaps, but let’s not forget Walsh is the man behind Westlife.
