More festivals news, and the Lovebox Weekender is also this weekend, which just shows that the Met office really don't like music. Held in Hackney's gem, the under-appreciated Victoria Park, Lovebox is hosted and organised by those kings of eclecticism, Groove Armada. It's getting an extra special mention because the B52s are headlining, and they are top CMU favourites, and they haven't played in the UK for more than ten years. The line-up also includes Tiga, Nouvelle Vague, Freeform Five, The Rapture, Will Saul, Blondie, Hot Chip and Super Furry Animals. Oh, and Sly And The Family Stone, which is a bit of a coup.
Some last minute tickets are still available at http://www.loveboxweekender.com and were it not for the fact that even the thought of rain makes me need a good lie down, I'd be snapping them up. Actually, B52s and Sly And The Family Stone... perhaps I'll buy a very waterproof hat and get down there.
