Madonna to go public re adoption

Madonna is to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show on Wednesday to explain her side of the adoption of one-year-old David Banda.

Madonna is to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show to talk about her planned adoption of one year old Malawian boy David Banda. A spokeswoman for the programme said that the singer will explain her side of the saga. News of the appearance, which will take place on Wednesday, follows claims from the baby's father that he didn't realise he was giving the child away for good.

As previously reported, Yahane Banda, who was previously very happy that the pop star was to adopt his son, on the basis that he was unable to care for him himself, now says that he had no idea what was written on the court papers he had signed, and was only just realising what the procedure really means.
