It's that time of the year when the Sunday Times publishes it annual rich list - documenting the top 500 richest people in the UK. Music wise the usual suspects appear - though with Madonna now resident in the UK she takes Paul McCartney's title as richest musician in Britian (she's 15th richest overall). Artist wise, here's the top ten richest in the UK:

1. Madonna - £36m

2. Sir Paul McCartney - £35m

3. Sir Mick Jagger - £24.5 m

4. Keith Richards - £24m

5. Sting - £21.8m

6. Eric Clapton - £14.2 m

7= Rod Stewart - £12m

7= Charlie Watts - £12m

9= Pete Townshend - £10m

9= Robbie Williams - £10m

9= Ronnie Wood - £10 m

Other interesting facts in the survey: we learn that Simon Fuller, the man behind Pop Idol, has made £30 million from the show; that Pop Idol judge and BMG A&R Simon Cowell earned £3m last year, which puts him considerably ahead of Pop Idol winner Will Young who pocketed £500,000.
