Madonna's adoption hearing delayed

Madonna has requested a postponement of the Malawi high court hearing to finalise her adoption of David Banda, now set for 15 May unless her lawyers ask for another date.

As expected, the court hearing to finalise Madonna's adoption of little David Banda has been delayed after the singer requested a postponement from Malawi's high court due to the fact that she had to deal with the important business of travelling to the US to promote her album. A court official told reporters that the date for the hearing would now be 15 May "unless her lawyers ask for another date".

It sounds to me as though it's a bit of a formality, really. The Malawian government has recommended that the adoption go ahead, and Banda has been with the Madonnas now for the best part of two years.
