Mark Owen expected to sign after Big Brother victory

Mark Owen won Celebrity Big Brother with 77% of the vote and is expected to sign a record deal to resurrect his solo career, with labels keen to release music quickly.

Former Take That star Mark Owen took 77% of the vote to win Celebrity Big Brother on Friday, pushing Les Dennis and Melinda Messenger into second and third place respectively. Although Owen’s ‘nice guy’ image during his ten days in the house won the support of his celebrity housemates (with all the previously evicted housemates supporting Mark at the last stage) the huge margin of the victory was a reminder of just how big a phenomenon Take That were, even after Robbie’s departure.

With this in mind Owen, who says he has 400 songs penned, is hoping to resurrect his solo career. And the majors said to be bidding for his signature are sure to want to get something in the shops as soon as possible to ensure maximum cash in on the hype surrounding the Big Brother show.
