May on Queen's new studio work

Brian May says he, Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers have recorded new material in the studio and plan further Queen live shows with Rodgers.

Brian May has been talking in a very happy voice about recent studio collaborations between him, Queen band mate Roger Taylor and former Free frontman Paul Rodgers. Rodgers, of course, fronted that recent Queen reunion tour, with him replacing Freddie Mercury's vocals on a wide range of the Queen back catalogue. Motivated by the success of that tour, the trio have now been into the studio to work on new material. And here's what May has to say about the venture: "We went in the studio to see what happens, because we've already tested it pretty good on stage and that works great. And we went in almost unprepared and came up with some tracks, which I think are really great. They're very different, they're very unlike anything that we've done, or anything that Paul's done".

Confirming that there would be more Queen live shows with Rodgers, May continued: "It's gonna be good, because next time we go out, we won't just be nostalgia, we will be: 'This is what we are.'"
