McCartney Mills divorce settlement may yet be made public

Paul McCartney's divorce settlement with Heather Mills may be made public after a judge rules on the amount on 17 March.

The details of the Paul McCartney/Heather Mills divorce settlement may be made public after all. A court spokesman for Mr Justice Bennett, who is due to decide on how much Macca will pay Mills on 17 Mar, said yesterday that while divorce hearings and settlements are normally kept confidential at first instance, because of the high level of public interest in this case he may as yet choose to go public with his ruling. A spokesperson for the Judicial Communications Office told the Press Association: "The judge will hand down his judgment in private on March 17 2008. He will then decide, having heard submissions from the parties, whether or not to make the judgment public in whole or in part".
