I can't complain about Mel B copying me, to be fair, because she was quite clearly pregnant long before I was, as she's just given birth to her second baby, a girl, in Los Angeles. Her spokeswoman says: "The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. No name has been decided on as yet, and she is purely known as Baby Brown".
It's thought, of course, that the baby is the product of Mel B's former relationship with actor Eddie Murphy, but he, of course, has been a bit ungracious about the whole thing. Asked by a TV interviewer back in December if he was excited about Scary's pregnancy, he replied: "Now you're being presumptuous because we're not together any more, and I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir".
Brown subsequently issued a statement saying that she was "upset and distressed" by what he'd said, adding: "I have no idea why anybody would want to conduct themselves in this kind of manner about such a personal matter in such a public way".
Time, and a paternity test, will tell.
