Having said earlier this year his band would definitely return at some point, Kevin Shields has now announced that My Bloody Valentine will release a new album in the very near future. Shields say the first MBV album since 1991 is now more or less done and will come out soon, alongside a compilation of other MBV stuff. On the album he says: "It sounds like what we sounded like - different but not radically different. People will go, 'Yeah, it sounds like My Bloody Valentine'". As previously reported, there are rumours MBV will be one of the reunions staged at next year's Coachella Festival in California.
