MySpace of the day: Tyler James

23 year-old Tyler James, with a voice like butter, is the perfect site to visit while feeling a bit melancholy, or perhaps best left for a rainy day, as ballads seem to be his weapon of choice, though I was won over with the more upbeat song 'Stay Humble' for its subtly poppy drive. Why should I try to describe just exactly what this musician has to offer, when Paste Magazine already put it quite nicely when featured as their artist of the week? They say: "James' vulnerable lyrics, uncontrived vocals and memorable piano and guitar arrangements make for a sound as accessible as it is meaningful". I personally can't get enough of his melodies, so luckily for me, he is sneaky enough to post recent demos on a separate page (myspace.com/tylerjamesnew).
