Afro haired prog-rockers The Mars Volta are poised to return with a new record. The band, formed by ex-members of At The Drive In, are set to follow up their 'Deloused In The Comatorium' album with 'Frances The Mute'. The album, which is expected to hit record shop shelves before the end of the year, will feature the line-up of founders Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Jon Theodore (drums), Ikey Owens (keyboards), Juan Alderete (bass) and Marcell Rodriguez-Lopez (percussion). Album art work is again in the hands of UK surrealist Storm Thorgerson.
