Norman Cook to shave Gavin Stone's beard at Bestival for charity

Bestival headliner Norman Cook will shave the beard of Isle of Wight local Gavin Stone during the festival, in a charity beard-growing campaign.

This just in from the Bestival team (it all kicks off tomorrow, don't forget).

One of the festival's headliners, Norman Cook, will be shaving a beard during the Isle of Wight fest, but it's not his own beard. Gavin Stone, a local of the Isle of Wight, has been growing a beard for a year for charity and Norman has kindly offered his hand for the official shave. Gavin's beard is now more than 25cm long (you can see it at http://www.beardforcharity.org.uk).

Cook told CMU: "I hope Gavin is as excited about this as I am! I've never shaved another man before, I'm rubbish at wet shaving too. I use an electric at home so I hope nothing goes wrong!"
