ODB died of accidental drug overdose

The New York medical examiner's office has confirmed Wu-Tang Clan founder Ol' Dirty Bastard died of an accidental overdose of cocaine and Tramadol.

No surprises here really. The New York medical examiner's office yesterday confirmed that Wu-Tang Clan founding member Ol' Dirty Bastard's death last month was caused by an accidental drugs overdose. ODB, of course, collapsed and died at a NYC recording studio on 13 Nov.

The official report into his death says he died as "a result of intoxication by the combined effects of cocaine and Tramadol, a prescription painkiller but not a narcotic". The medical examiner's spokesman, Ellen Borakove, added: "The manner of death is an accident". ODB's family are yet to comment on the medical examiner's report, though the findings are not likely to be a surprise, as it was no secret poor ODB had a long history of drug problems.

As previously reported, the rapper was working on a new album at the time of his death - his mother is now coordinating the completion of that album which will be released in the New Year.
