Ofcom will not re-advertise rejected Fenland FM licence

Ofcom will not re-advertise the Fenland FM licence relinquished by UKRD, and will instead extend the broadcast area of Cambridge's Star Radio to cover Fenland.

OfCom have said they will not re-advertise the FM licence for the Fenland area of Cambridgeshire which, as previously reported, was relinquished by incumbents UKRD earlier this week in another protest at OfCom rules which, the radio firm argue, make smaller independent radio stations unviable. Instead of seeking a new service for the area, OfCom say they will extend the broadcast area of Cambridge's Star Radio to cover Fenland.
