Order confirm Cunningham as full-time member

New Order have confirmed Phil Cunningham as a permanent replacement for Gillian Gilbert, who left live work in 2001, ahead of their new album.

New Order have announced that Phil Cunningham has now officially replaced Gillian Gilbert in the band. Founder member Gillian, wife of the band's drummer Stephen Morris, dropped out of the band's live commitments in 2001 to look after her ill daughter, and Cunningham stepped in. With Cunningham also involved in the recording of the new album, the band have formally announced he is now a permanent replaced for Gilbert.

That new album, 'Waiting for the Sirens', is due out on 28 Mar - with at least three single releases in the pipeline.
